How To Prepare For Your Appointment

Wash and Deep Condition

  • Cleanse Thoroughly: Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove all product buildup, oils, and dirt. Opt for an everyday shampoo if you’ve used a clarifying shampoo that month. A clean canvas is essential for long-lasting braids.
  • Deep Condition: Follow up with a deep conditioner or a moisturising treatment. Detangle and carefully remove knots. Ensuring it is well-moisturised and pliable before the appointment helps prevent breakage.
  • Rinse Well: Ensure all product is thoroughly rinsed out.

Dry Your Hair Fully

  • Air Dry or Blow Dry: You can opt to blow dry or air dry your hair. Our services do come with a complimentary. For the neatest results and to reduce tension on your scalp, blow-drying your hair smooth or stretching it out before braiding is recommended, especially for those with very curly or coily hair. This provides a uniform texture for braiding.

4. Products and Preparation

  • Avoid Heavy Products: Do not apply heavy oils, gels, or butters just before your appointment. Freshly applied heavy products can cause buildup under the braids, make the hair slippery, and attract dirt. A light leave-in conditioner or hair milk is sufficient. You can put your fully detangled and dry hair into 4-8 large, loose twists or braids to keep it from re-tangling during transit.
